Behavioral Consultation

CDM offers behavioral consulting services in order to support individuals of all ages with a variety of needs.  We are able to provide these services in a variety of settings such as home, school, residential facilities, and hospitals.   Behavioral consultations can support individuals with:

  • Autism or other developmental disabilities
  • Cognitive disorders
  • Physical disabilities
  • Emotional disorders
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Attention Deficit disorders

What does a behavioral consultation include?

The nature and length of the consultation services are based on the individual needs of the client as determined by the clinician and the family/caregivers or supporting facility.  Generally a consult would include:

  • Initial meeting with a behavioral consultant to determine the needs of the client
  • Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) including observation sessions and caregiver/staff interviews
  • Development of a comprehensive behavior intervention plan
  • Training family/caregivers or staff on intervention techniques
  • Follow up as necessary

CDM believes in a consultation model that guides parents/caregivers or staff to help facilitate positive behavior change through direct support and training based on the behavior intervention plan written. The behavioral consultant will be available to follow up as necessary.
